The first step to learn HTML
It is necessary to learn basic HTML if you want to build your own website. HTML is a computer language; its name is Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is a very simple language and is quite easy to learn. Just keep in mind that it's simply a series of letters that are abbreviations of what they actually stand for. <html>…</html> - Stands for the beginning and end of your page.

<body>…<body>- Stand for the body of your document. Everything you want to present on your website can be inserted here.
<title>…</title> - Stands for the title of the document.
